This just in: it still looks bloody lovely.

Concrete Genie

Developers Pixelopus have announced that their beautiful looking game Concrete Genie will be launching on PS4 on October 9th 2019, with pre-orders available right now. To celebrate this news, there’s a new trailer that showcases Concrete Genie’s gameplay and story. Check it out below.

Protagonist Ash uses his magical brush to restore his hometown of Denska back to its former glory, which you can see in the above trailer, though now we’ve been given more of a look at the combat, as Ash takes on a variety of weird but cool looking monsters. An official post on the PlayStation Blog gives a more extended look at some of the gameplay features on offer, including “Paint Skating”.

As mentioned, pre-orders are live right now, with the Standard Edition setting you back £24.99/$29.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs £34.99/$39.99, which is an incredibly reasonable price point. Both editions will include some VR exclusive modes, along with a Photo Mode that supports a full replay feature. The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes a digital artbook and soundtrack, a Pond Design pack for use in-game, and a dynamic theme to customise your PS4 home screen. We’re incredibly excited to see more of this charming looking adventure.
