It’s official, CM Punk will face ‘Hangman’ Adam Page at this year’s AEW Double or Nothing event in Las Vegas.

For the first time in almost a decade, CM Punk will challenge for a major wrestling championship when he finally meets the AEW Champion in the show’s hotly-anticipated main-event. The announcement came as part of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, where Punk was serving as special guest commentator during the Cash Wheeler/Dax Harwood Owen Hart Tournament match. Punk then hit the mic and rallied the crowd behind him, as he made his proclamations that he has shed any doubt that he can still be one of the top guys in the industry despite having spent so much time away.

CM Punk is ranked #1 in the AEW Men’s singles division, making him the ideal candidate to step up and challenge one of the most popular champions AEW have ever produced.

Page was unable to cement the match this week due to COVID-related illness, but having already shared a few staredowns with the former WWE Champion, you can already feel the tension building towards this match. This will be ‘Hangmans’ biggest test to date, having already defeated the likes of Bryan Danielson and Lance Archer in previous title defences.
