Blue Steel Yourself for the ‘Zoolander 2’ Trailer

I don’t know if it’s the dreary weather making me want to look for the positives in everything, but I think the recently released Zoolander 2 trailer actually makes the 2016 film look like it could actually be a total riot.

Ben Stiller returns with a sequel to the now classic Zoolander, released in 2000, and if the early signs are anything to go by, it could be a bit of a stormer. Or it could be just like Anchorman 2 and repeatedly stamp on a dead horse’s head for the better part of two hours and look eagerly into the camera at how self-referential it is every other minute. Damn that film.

Set in a fashion world far removed from the one Derek Zoolander used to know, the film will follow the hapless model as he attempts to unravel the mystery behind the deaths of the world’s most beautiful people. He is once again joined by Owen Wilson’s Hans and the obligatory cameos – hopefully Benedict Cumberbatch has more than just a short scene as his turn as ‘All’ could be gold. Will Ferrell returns as the evilly fabulous Mugatu, too.

As long as they haven’t used up all their good jokes in the trailers (something that always seems to be the case with comedy films), this could help us finally turn left.

Zoolander 2 drops on Feb 12th 2016.
