Is Bloodborne Coming to Xbox?

Depicting the horrors of a city that’s plagued by the most brutal of beasts, Bloodborne’s awe-inspiring journey astonished many. However, the much-talked-about AAA title from FromSoftware is only available to PlayStation 4 players. But, with all these ports happening over the years, such as Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Marvel’s Spider-Man, would it be too much to expect Bloodborne to come to Xbox in the near future?

Sadly, Bloodborne is not coming to Xbox anytime soon, as Sony has struck a deal with FromSoftware to keep the title exclusive to the PlayStation. Ever since the release of Bloodborne back in 2015, it has always been stuck on PlayStation 4 only. And for the foreseeable future, it is most likely that Bloodborne will remain a PS-exclusive title.

The ongoing rivalry between Sony and Microsoft is a major reason why AAA titles such as Bloodborne and Final Fantasy VII Remake never made it to Xbox consoles. Both tech giants are keeping their secrets and continue to form alliances with third-party studios to produce PS and Xbox exclusives.

Most recently, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision worsened relations between the two companies and it’s almost certain that Bloodborne isn’t likely to ever make it to any other platform except the PlayStation, possibly PC.

In the latest back and forth between the two companies, Microsoft’s legal team responded to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and strongly defended their Activision purchase. The company claimed that Sony has better exclusive titles such as Bloodborne and a handful of others, and if Microsoft was to purchase the Call of Duty franchise, it would be completely justified.

About Bloodborne

Developed by FromSoftware, Bloodborne depicts a cruel story of the city of Yharnam that’s plagued by a disease that has caused the residents to turn into blood-sucking monsters. Probably one of the scariest games to ever hit the screens, Bloodborne continues to carry the legacy of Dark Souls, also from FromSoftware, and presents an unforgettable action RPG that’ll scare the bejesus out of you.

Everything from the cunning dialogue to surviving the waves of enemies is done marvelously in Bloodborne, making it one of the finest works of FromSoftware. Bloodborne was released in 2015 on PlayStation 4 and was well-received by fans. And due to PS5’s backward compatibility, Bloodborne can also be enjoyed on PlayStation 5. However, since the gameplay is capped at 30 frames-per-second, don’t expect improved or upscaled gameplay on Sony’s latest console.

Everything about the game, whether slashing the most enemies in half with a sharp blade to customizing the character to fit your needs, is done perfectly. While it is quite harsh to Xbox players that they won’t get to experience the offerings of Yharnam, the latest project from FromSoftware, Elden Ring, readily supports next-gen Xbox consoles so you can get your hands on that one to get a glimpse of the stunning work of this studio.
