Beyond Good and Evil 2 Being Developed On All New Voyager Engine

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Where were you when Beyond Good and Evil 2 was finally announced?

The biggest surprise of E3 2017 has taken social media by storm and making everyone fall in love with Michel Ancel just that little bit more. Clearly moved by the reception, Ancel talked about what the game’s journey and what to expect for the future.

If you’re wondering how the trailer looked that damn beautiful, though, it might have something to do with a powerful-looking game engine.

Voyager has been developed by Ubisoft Montpellier specifically for the game and has been in the works for three years – so that accounts for some of the wait for the prequel, then.

It seems very robust, according to a press release:

“This breakthrough technology is capable of generating vast worlds, tailor-made territories with rich, gorgeous environments, and robust online systems.”

How robust would an online system have to be in a Beyond Good and Evil game? Generated worlds? Very interesting indeed.

We have reached out to Ubisoft for some clarification and will update the article when we get it.
