Battlezone: Gold Edition Coming To PS4, PC, Xbox One & Switch

Battlezone

Rebellion have announced that Battlezone is getting a re-release as Battlezone: Gold Edition, and it’s bring forth a whole heap of changes. Releasing on May 1st, people will be able to play Battlezone without a VR headset on PS4, PC and the Xbox One.

The Gold Edition will be free for all existing players, and will give them access to all the DLC, including all the tank skins, bobbleheads and more. If you don’t own the game, you’re looking at a £30 investment, which isn’t a bad price. Non-VR players will also be able to play with VR players, but unfortunately there’s no plans for cross-platform play.

Lastly, it’s also been confirmed that Battlezone: Gold Edition will also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but only at some point in the summer. Sorry, Nintendo fans, looks like you’re going to have to wait a little bit.

It’s good to see that Rebellion are bringing Battlezone to new audiences by making the VR support optional, and perhaps more VR games will follow suit. Personally, I’d love to play Moss without having to shell out a bunch of money for a PSVR headset.

Are you excited for the new Battlezone update? Will you take the opportunity to play the game without a VR headset? Sound off in the comments below, and check out what’s rumoured to be added to Battlefield V right here.
