Battlefield 1 Free Weekend Coming To Xbox One

Battlefield 1

If you’re one of the four and a half people yet to play Battlefield 1, now’s your chance if you’re an Xbox One owner.

As part of Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days, players will be able to download a timed trial version of the game that will last from the September 22nd to 24th. Once the weekend passes, you will have to buy a copy if you want to keep playing, but luckily your progress will carry over.

In addition, Battlefield 1 Revolution is 40% off from now until the 25th; it’s the same for the Premium pass. The former is the game bundled with Premium, which includes all of the DLC released to date and those still to come. I bought Premium and wandered off to play other games before they introduced the new content, oops.

It’s worth mentioning that you may as well just sign up for EA Access instead. Battlefield 1 is part of the service’s vault and it works out cheaper in the long run; there’s a whole bunch of good and recent games as part of the package.

Battlefield 1 is a mighty fine slice of WWI action, as I mentioned in my review:

“If you chip away at Battlefield 1 and look for issues, they will be right there staring you in the face. The campaign is short but so emotionally charged and lovingly crafted and the multiplayer two patches away from absolute perfection, but after a few hours spent in this harrowing replication of the War To End All Wars, try your best to tear yourself away from it for the next thirty. War is hell, but Battlefield 1 is FPS heaven.”
