Avengers: Infinity War Earns Over $100 Million From Home Video Sales

Who said physical media was dying?

The Avengers Infinity War

In addition to being a massive success at the global box office, Avengers: Infinity War has also been performing incredibly well on home video. The Marvel Cinematic Universe film, which grossed $2.048 billion when it was released by Disney in theaters last year, has now earned over $100 million from domestic DVD and Blu-ray sales.

This information comes from The Numbers.com, which tells us that Infinity War has sold a total of 1,133,825 million copies on DVD across the US, which equates to $20,701,575 in revenue. On Blu-Ray, it has sold an even more impressive 2,672,258 units, which equals $95,237,220 in revenue. This brings the film’s total domestic home video earnings to a staggering $115,938,795.

But perhaps most impressive of all is that The Numbers also lists Infinity War as the 46th best-selling Blu-ray of all time in the US, which is incredible when you take into account the fact that the Blu-Ray was released in the country less than a year ago.

Unfortunately, The Numbers does not track home video sales data outside the US, but the Official Charts Company listed Infinity War as the fourth best-selling Blu-ray of 2018 in the UK. Although exact sales figures were not provided, a very large number of copies would have been sold for it to achieve this position.

And while Infinity War has been selling like crazy on home video, its successor, Avengers: Endgame, has been breaking records on the big screen. Released in cinemas last month, the film has currently earned $2.228 billion worldwide. At this rate, it looks like Endgame will soon surpass Avatar to become the highest-grossing film of all time.
