Apex Legends Bangalore Guide: Abilities, Skins & How To Play

How best to use Bangalore, one of the most versatile Legends that Apex Legends has to offer.

Bangalore is a Legend even the newest of Apex Legends players could get to grips with pretty quickly and that feels largely by design. Almost entirely without frills, she is in the Soldier 76 mould of an attack-minded character who provides the most natural transition from other FPS games. If you’re a little overwhelmed by the intricacies of Wraith, for instance, Bangalore is your best starting bet.

However, Bangalore is a lock-in for high level players (like Shroud and Ninja, for instance) because her abilities pair incredibly well with the other tools that she has at her disposal, as well as those of her teammates. Our Apex Legends Bangalore guide takes you through how best to make use of this incredibly versatile Legend, who may well be the most popular the game has to offer — apart from Lifeline, of course.

Apex Legends Bangalore Bio

Apex Legends Bangalore

Real Name: Anita Williams
Age: 35

“Born into a military family where she, her parents, and her four older brothers all served in the IMC Armed Forces, Bangalore has been an exceptional soldier since she was young. She was top of her class at the IMC Military Academy and the only cadet who could take apart a Peacekeeper, equip it with a Precision Choke hop-up, and put it back together in under twenty seconds – blindfolded.

“Three years ago, Anita and her brother Jackson were ordered to retrieve a mercenary fleet from the Outlands to aid in the IMC’s fight against the Militia. However, their unit lost contact with IMC HQ and were ambushed on arrival. The squad scattered, but Jackson stayed behind to give his sister time to escape. Alone and with no way home, Anita put her training, extensive weapon knowledge, and competitive spirit to work by joining the Apex Games. Now, she fights to raise money for passage back to the IMC home base, where she hopes to reunite with what remains of her family.”

Apex Legends Bangalore Abilties

Bangalore

Passive Ability: Double Time – a small but wholly helpful ability, Double Time turns Bangalore into Usain Bolt to help her escape from shots. If you’re getting shot at while trying to get to the safe zone, that might actually not be a bad thing.

Tactical Ability: Smoke Launcher – probably one of the most useful abilities in the entirety of Apex Legends, Smoke Launcher allows you throw down two smoke canisters to disguise yourself from enemies and reposition, or even just run the hell away. For offensive plays, a Digital Threat will allow you to see your enemies through smoke, which is an OP tactic if ever there was one.

Ultimate Ability:  Rolling Thunder – similarly to Gibraltar’s Ult, Rolling Thunder allows you to call in a bombardment on your foes. Only massively useful if you have a team hemmed in and want to apply more pressure as it takes a long while for the bombs to explode, often not for more than a single hit in total on all three members of the enemy squad. Not a high kills strat but for a Plan B instead.

How To Play As Bangalore In Apex Legends

Apex Legends

If you want to play as Bangalore effectively in Apex Legends, you should really act as the aggressor for most situations and start pushes on other squads. This is because she, above all of the other Legends, is best equipped to deal with head-on threats and can quickly escape danger if needs be. She might even be better than Mirage and Wraith at legging it in a tough spot.

However, Bangalore also pairs insanely well with other Legends with a potential dream team consisting of her, Caustic, and Bloodhound (though you may lack some support). Bloodhound can make ample use of the smoke/gas and see enemies through it, allowing for some very straightforward kills. There’s actually a more straightforward solution: find a Digital Threat for a shotgun/SMG and you will be able to see people through Bangalore’s smoke via ADS. That’s bound to be nerfed at some point.

Don’t forget to keep repositioning with Bangalore, either. Her Double Time ability is perfect for this, so if you’re getting shot at, sprint for some cover and heal up if you can. That’s a tip that applies generally to Apex Legends: if you have an abundance of Shield Cells etc, use them whenever you get respite during a firefight.

In terms of her Ult, I typically deploy it as a last resort. I’ve found that it’s quite difficult to get downs (or do much damage at all) with Rolling Thunder as it deploys quite slowly, meaning that most enemies are able to simply run away from its radius. However, if one or more of your teammates are down, Rolling Thunder, in conjunction with Smoke Launcher, gives you ample cover for the revive as most enemies won’t risk the push.

Bangalore is one of the most diverse and generally well-rounded Legends in Apex Legends and someone who many stick with from their first match. If you can learn to use her abilities effectively, she’s a monster.

From our Apex Legends review:

“Even the most jaded of battle royale fans will find their interest rejuvenated by Apex Legends thanks to Respawn’s attention to detail, superior gunplay, and fantastic innovations, though the loot boxes and progression system certainly need addressing.”
