A puzzle in Perosi’s Room in Alone in the Dark involves several strange star signs on a lock, a collection of paintings, and several rather fetching portraits that look like people on the Titanic. It’s a tricky puzzle with a lot of steps, but that’s where we come in handy.

The first thing you should do is pick up Perosi’s Journal, a notebook on a table with a cypher that will come in handy in a little while.

Next, flip all of the paintings to the right of the door until all of the black rot is facing forward. It should look a little like this.

Now, take a note of all of the names that are visible underneath each painting: William Arges, Franklyn Mosig, Norah Keith. Go check out the painting on a wall to the right and you will see what numbers these correspond to: 294.

We’re not quite done yet, though. Take these numbers and then correspond them to the key in Perosi’s Journal, which gives you a couple of clues but it’s basically just a clock. Your numbers will give you the following star signs: Pisces, Libra, Taurus.

One final step: go to the lock and rotate each wheel with those star signs until you get the following combination:

Take the Broken Plate that you are rewarded with back to the giant clock in the gallery and place it inside; you will also need the Broken Plate from the garden to fully complete this puzzle.
