All of Us Are Dead: Season 2 – Everything You Should Know

There's plenty more where that came from

Vampire and zombie shows have somehow obtained a universal sweet spot, despite them being generic most of the time. Netflix’s original drama All of Us Are Dead on the other hand, puts a fresh new twist on the run-of-the-mill zombie apocalypse setting, so it’s no wonder why the series massively blew up, rising to no. 1 on the service’s charts globally.

Netflix didn’t overlook that fact and made haste to renew the series, officially confirming on June 6, 2022, that All of Us Are Dead: Season 2 is in development. We’ve already binged the gripping first season, and now more is on its way, so if you’re interested in finding out everything about it, here’s an overview.

When Is All of Us Are Dead: Season 2 Coming Out?

Unfortunately, the release date for All of Us Are Dead: Season 2 wasn’t revealed alongside the renewal. Filming for the first season didn’t last long compared to what you’d typically expect, and this time around, it should be even shorter, so there’s a strong chance we’ll see the series return with new episodes in early 2024.

There’s a lot of potential in where the story could go next, and director Lee Jae-kyoo commented on that fact by stating they intentionally left wiggle room for All of Us Are Dead: Season 2 if the series ended up becoming a success, and surely enough, it performed way beyond what the team had hoped.

Lee also said that the second season will be more driven around the threat of the zombies, and their “survival”. He laid it out pretty cryptically, although it isn’t hard to guess he’s referring to the characters who were infected and turned into zombies, but still retained a great deal of their humanity.

Either way, it’s safe to assume we’re in for a ride with All of Us Are Dead: Season 2, and that’s also been the case with every Netflix K-drama lately. Squid Game, Hellbound, My Name, and other recent shows have all concocted great stories, and the future looks even brighter.

Who Is In The Cast of All of Us Are Dead: Season 2?

Most of the cast won’t be returning for All of Us Are Dead: Season 2, why? Well, uhm, because they’re dead, so it’s unlikely that fan-favorites like Han Gyeong-Su, and Nam So-ju, played by Ham Sung-Min, and Jeon Bae-soo respectively will return.

Some of the actors who’ll definitely be back in the universe though include Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Park Solomon (Su-hyeok), and Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra). There are a ton of other supporting characters who’ll reprise their roles, but plenty of fans are worried more about whether Yoon Chan-young will return as Lee Cheong-san since it was implied that he died, however, we never saw that first-hand, and there’s no way any show kills off a major character off-screen.

Choi Nam-ra’s situation was curious too, we thought she died, but somehow even after being turned into a zombie she held on to her consciousness, and then later disappeared into the distance, presumably to regroup with other half-zombies like her. There’s still a bunch we don’t know about All of Us Are Dead: Season 2, but things are shaping up brilliantly, so expect loads of thrills when it finally releases.
