Aleister Black Pulled From NXT: Takeover Brooklyn 4

In a truly sad turn of events, Aleister Black will not be cleared in time for the upcoming Takeover special in Brooklyn this month. The former NXT Champion recently underwent surgery, which has turned out to have slightly more serious implications than originally speculated.

Black was scheduled to appear in the NXT Championship main event, against both Tommasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano – with no offical confirmation from WWE as of writing, it would seem as if that main event has now become a singles match.

Aleister was essentially ‘written off’ this week with footage of a backstage assault – somewhat covering their tracks for his sudden disappearance from one of the biggest NXT shows of the year.

Hopefully Black shall be back in the title picture once he has recovered, but might he be sent straight up to the main roster, following in the footsteps of Drew McIntyre, who never received his NXT title rematch following injury. Let us know your thoughts about the injury and how it’ll affect the main event in the comments below. Of course, our best wishes to Aleister in his recovery.
