Activision Blizzard Games Removed From Nvidia GeForce Now

So long, farewell.

Nvidia GeForce Now, the streaming platform that’s out to rival Google Stadia and Microsoft’s upcoming xCloud, has announced that all Activision Blizzard games will be removed from the service at the request of the publishers themselves.

In a GeForce forum post, Nvidia staff stated the following: “As we take GeForce Now to the next step in its evolution, we’ve worked with publishers to onboard a robust catalog of your PC games. This means continually adding new games, and on occasion, having to remove games – similar to other digital service providers.

“Per their request, please be advised Activision Blizzard games will be removed from the service. While unfortunate, we hope to work together with Activision Blizzard to re-enable these games and more in the future. In addition to the hundreds of games currently supported, we have over 1,500 games that developers have asked to be on-boarded to the service. Look for weekly updates as to new games we are adding.”

Obviously, Nvidia aren’t shutting the door on working with Activision Blizzard again in the future, but this news is still surprising nonetheless, as it’ll affect games like Call of Duty, Overwatch and more.

GeForce Now is a streaming service that combines your gaming libraries from stores like Steam and UPlay, and allows you to stream these games through the cloud to a variety of devices. An unlimited Founder’s account will only set you back £4.99/$4.99, and will also include 90 days free. Have you been using Nvidia’s GeForce Now? Sound off in the comments.
