It’s hot. I am become puddle. Pants are a death wish. Summer is truly upon us, bringing its sweaty wrath and species of insects you didn’t even know with it. I have a parade of exotic flies coming in and out of my house as we need to keep the back door ajar, otherwise we will go the way of half the MCU.
But video games. Video games are a sweet escape from the soul leaving the body in excessive heat. This period of the year is almost always the quietest in terms of new game releases, but this week is one of the busiest in a long while. Hell, there’s even a movie tie-in because this is apparently 2004.
If you have money spare from buying a Spartan amount of electric fans, here are the most notable games out this week. Bear in mind that we can’t be completely comprehensive because Steam is an uncontrollable battleground.

Personally, I am most intrigued by The Culling 2 out of all of these games. Not because I am genuinely excited by it, but because the original game was one of the forebears of the battle royale craze and this looks like it’s abandoning everything that helped it earn itself a name. It also looks like jank.
