With the release of Monster Hunter: World arriving later this month for consoles, PC players will have to wait a whole lot later. The cult classic series’ major push for the big time won’t arrive until a tentative ‘Autumn 2018’, Capcom has confirmed.
Since the game’s reveal, Capcom have always been a bit hush-hush about its PC version, so today’s video confirmation shouldn’t come as a surprise. Citing that it “is currently being optimized for PC and is planned for an Autumn 2018 release”, Monster Hunter World’s producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, thanked fans for being patient.

In the same video, Tsujimoto confirmed that console players would get free updates to look forward to in the future.
This is none too dissimilar to the way Capcom announced a delay for the Not A Hero DLC for Resident Evil 7. It really is a nice touch for a senior member of the team to personally explain why things are getting pushed back while also apologising – we sometimes forget that developers are human.
