Single of the Week: ORGAN – ‘Witch House’

organ witch house

Well, that’s summer over then. Not that it ever really got started, though, am I right? You know what I’m talking about. Regardless of your opinions on this summer past, it’s done with now. It’s over. It’s finished. It’s kaput. End of. Fin. I suggest we just move on and get on with our lives. Winter is coming. Now, there’s no better way to prepare for the oncoming cold and dark, than with some good old-fashioned doom; nothing quite soundtracks gloom like a spot of doom.

Oh, and as luck would have it, that’s exactly what we’ve got for you with this here Single of the Week, it’s as if I’d planned it all along. How planned or unplanned this whole thing was is of no real matter. No, what matters is that you have a song to soundtrack your week, and it is like a glorious walk on a summer’s day, in that it is nothing like a glorious walk on a summer’s day, and is in fact more like trudging through a thick swamp in the dead of night, as a the heavens piss on you, thunder occasionally growls in hot pursuit of blinding lightning. Oh, and you are super stoned. Like, just so stoned.

Said song is called ‘Witch House’ and it is the heavy work of four harbingers of doom, who go by the name of ORGAN. The riffs are thick, the distortion dense, the grooves both pounding and hypnotic, the vocals pained and wailed, and the atmosphere as hazy and nightmarish, your clouded, paranoid mind. Some definite Electric Wizard vibes here. Plus, there’s a cool retro-horror inspired music video to boot, and what’s not to love about that winning combination?
