Becoming the captain of your own spaceship is definitely an enticing venture, so it’s no surprise that Starfield has become an incredible success after launching on PC and Xbox Series X & S. Who doesn’t want to be travelling around the galaxy, customising your ship to become the best original space-faring vessel or to imitate classic spaceships from science fiction?
While many people online have already begun sharing their builds concerning the outside of the spaceship, a lot of players are wondering if you you can turn the inside of your spaceship into a spacehome. This is everything you should know about customising the interior of your spaceships in Starfield.
Starfield Interior Ship Decoration Explained
The short answer is that no, you can’t decorate the interior of your spaceship in the same way you can the outside. Players are able to completely change the colour scheme of the outside of their ship, but the actual interior of your ship can’t be changed in the same way. That being said, there are ways you can change what’s inside your spaceship, but the level of customisation just isn’t the same.
When you’re in the ship creation menu, the habitation stations you can add to your ship have different interiors which change what you’re capable of inside your ship. The Workshop station, for instance, adds the majority of the game’s crafting tables into one room, meaning you have a secured place to create weapon mods and the like. On top of that, the different manufacturers of ship parts each have their own visual style, so you can find a manufacturer that’s right for you, and simply use their parts to ensure your ship has a consistent theme.
If you’re looking to add a bit of a personal touch to your ship beyond that though, there’s two options. Firstly, lots of the habitation options include weapon racks and boxes that can be adorned with weapons and ammo, allowing you to showcase some legendary gear you might not use any more. Secondly, there’s a lot of “miscellaneous” items you can find, like Old Earth memorabilia, plushies and more that you can simply leave scattered around your ship, using the hold command (hold down the pick up button) to place them neatly on desks, tables and the like.
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X & S.
