Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action RPG that shares a lot of similarities to its peers but with a distinctly weird Team Ninja edge. It’s basically the perfect introduction to Soulslikes for newcomers thanks to its more forgiving difficulty curve and the fact that you have two AI companions to fall back on. But it’s relatively easy to get lost in the game’s sprawling levels, so you’re probably scrambling for a map to help you out.
Peculiarly, there is no real map in Wo Long, only the mini-map that shows the general direction of objectives and save spots. It’s a pretty strange creative decision, especially when there are so many routes and hidden loot to find across the game’s many stages.
However, it must be said that travelling back through levels in Wo Long is fairly easy once you’ve ventured through them previously. When you have your bearings, you will probably find that you can get from point A to point B fairly quickly, so you shouldn’t get too lost. The idea is to just explore and find everything naturally rather than relying on guides, you feel. It does mean, however, that item locations are pretty difficult to explain.
