Total War: Warhammer 3 – How to Earn Devotees

Amongst all of the Chaos Gods in Total War: Warhammer 3, Slaanesh’s Devotee resource has the most amount of sources of income. Slaanesh loves praying on weak-minded mortals and there are so many of them to reach out to and corrupt. Here are the many ways you can attract more Devotees to Slaanesh’s cult of excess in Warhammer 3.

The most obvious path to accruing Devotees is through war and aggressive maneuvers. More specifically, fighting battles and converting captives into Devotees, as well as looting and sacking settlements. Placing armies in a raid stance in enemy territory can also provide a small trickle of Devotees.

However, Slaaneshi factions have a greater arsenal of strategic options to leverage to really rake in more followers. The first of these is to utilize Slaanesh’s Seductive Influence mechanic and force weak-minded minor factions to become your vassal, which will in turn set you up nicely with a steady source of Devotees as tribute.

Players can also complete quests and activate Pleasurable Acts in their provinces to attract more Devotees. Pleasurable Acts almost act like a normal Commandment, except they have hefty costs in public order, gold, or even Devotees to activate.

Slaaneshi factions can also incur Gifts of Slaanesh on enemy characters through battle or agent actions. These gifts will not only debuff the target character but may also provide a passive source of Devotees, depending on the effect on the gift.

A more passive way of getting more Devotees is setting up Chaos cults across the world. When a province reaches a particular level of Chaos corruption, there’s a chance that a cult may spawn in a settlement, which gives the Slaaneshi faction a chance to build a secret building right under the noses of their opponents. Some of these cult buildings will establish a steady source of Devotees.

Finally, just like Tzeentch’s Grimoires and Khorne’s Skulls, Slaanesh can get a lump sum of Devotees through the Unholy Manifestation system that all mono-god factions benefit from. Though the amount of Devotees you will get is quite high, these Manifestations don’t activate regularly enough to act as the backbone of your Devotee economy.
