Riot Games, via its new publishing branch Riot Forge, has released Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a single-player RPG developed by Airship Syndicate, who previously developed Darksiders Genesis. Ruined King was meant to release earlier this year, but was delayed without a new release date before today.
Ruined King, along with rhythm game Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, developed by Choice Provisions (Bit.Trip), were released during a scheduled presentation by Riot Forge about its planned projects. Beyond releasing Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem, Riot Forge also announced two new League of Legends Story projects: Song of Nunu and Convergence.
Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story will be a single-player adventure game developed by Tequila Works (The Sexy Brutale), and focuses on League of Legends’ character Nunu and his yeti friend Willump. Convergence will be a 2D puzzle platformer.
All of these projects, along with the Netflix animated series Arcane and League of Legends’ Jinx being a player skin in Fortnite, Riot is fully committing to putting League of Legends’ characters and concepts in as many fresh projects as they can manage.
Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem are now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
