Daedalic Entertainment and Chunkybox Games have released a trailer and details for their upcoming bullet-hell shooter, Wildcat Gun Machine. The trailer showcases the game’s cartoony exaggerated art style, wide array of firearms, and its sinister, heavy metal, Doom-adjacent atmosphere and enemy design.
While the title appears to feature some DNA with roguelites like The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, a press release stressed that every level in Wildcat Gun Machine is designed deliberately, not procedurally, to insure that every fur-raising firefight has been crafted to incorporate level design and enemy behavior into an almost puzzle-like quality to them to keep players on their toes, or perhaps rather paws.
From the press release:
“Armed with a wide variety of guns, a meowntain of bullets and a bad cattitude, you’ll enter the bullet hell dungeons and face hordes of fur-midable opponents like disgusting flesh beasts and other fur-ocious trigger happy monsters.”
The trailer also features a live action cat strapped up with nerf bandoliers, ready to do battle. The cats in Wildcat Gun Machine are presumably less adorable.
Where Will Wildcat Gun Machine Be Released?
Wildcat Gun Machine is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in late 2021.
