This year’s Monster Hunter Orchestra Concert will be held online and without an audience in attendance, according to a press release regarding the event. While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is not mentioned explicitly within the press release, it is likely a large factor in the decision to not include live fans in attendance. Instead, fans will be able to stream the concert online.

There’s a Monster Hunter Orchestra Concert?

The first Monster Hunter Orchestra Concert was held in 2009, on the 5 year anniversary of the long-running Monster Hunter series. Since 2014, there has been a yearly concert to celebrate the music of the franchise. Last year’s concert was performed for streaming audiences, as this year’s will be. Conductor Hirofumi Kurita has been the conductor since the 2014 concert.

This year’s concert will focus on the music of Monster Hunter Rise, which was released on Nintendo Switch earlier this year and is slated for a PC release sometime in 2022.

The remote nature of this year’s concert will present some unique viewing experiences for fans, such as the opportunities for closer views of the musicians thanks to camera angles not possible in in-person attendance. Musicians from the game Hideki Ishigaki and Momoka Enomoto will also be performing in the show.

The concert will be on September 28th, 2021, and be available for streaming for a short time after the performance date. For more information on how to purchase tickets, see the concert’s official site.
