This Ghost of Tsushima PS1 Case Gives Off Major Tenchu Vibes

Sad about no new Tenchu now, though.

Ahead of its launch on July 17th for PlayStation 4, plenty of fans are getting excited for Ghost of Tsushima’s release. Not many fans are going to the trouble of designing an original PlayStation case for it, though.

My Name Is Dan is a freelance designer who has designed a PS1 cover for Tsushima but with modern tweaks, including the current age rating system and the fact that it’s on PlayStation 4 — could you imagine this game running on the OG PlayStation?

Check it out for yourself below.

Honestly, that solid black background just instantly brings to mind the cover for the first Tenchu, and now I’m sad Tenchu will never see the light of day again. At least games like Tsushima and Sekiro are keeping that flame alive.

If you want to get this art for yourself, My Name Is Dan will be doing a giveaway at some point in the future, similarly to what he’s done in the past for other prints. You will have to get the PS1 case yourself, but you can get those for relatively cheap on eBay and Amazon. Be sure to get one with that iconic seal on the bottom left if you can.

My Name Is Dan has also imagined what the PS5 cases might look like if they were cardboard, so be sure to check him out for what else he has up his sleeve.

Elsewhere, Ghost of Tsushima’s review embargo lifts very soon indeed, so keep your eyes peeled for critical reception as it comes pouring in. It is Sucker Punch’s first game since inFamous: First Light and is likely to be the last major PS4 exclusive before we move into the PS5 era.
