Pokémon Home To Launch Next Month, Pricing Revealed

Homeward bound.

Pokémon Home

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced that their cloud based service app Pokémon Home will be launching in February. The app, which will be available on smartphones and the Nintendo Switch, will allow users to swap Pokémon across several games.

Players will be able to use Pokémon Home to gather their Pokémon from across a plethora of different games, though the main focus at launch will be the Nintendo Switch games. Trainers will be able swap their Pokémon across both Let’s Go games, and across Sword and Shield. You can also port Pokémon from Let’s Go into Sword and Shield, though the press release notes that players won’t be able to move Pokémon from Sword and Shield to Let’s Go.

You’ll also be able to use Pokémon Bank to move 3DS Pokémon to Pokémon Home, though that’ll require a premium subscription, and again, you won’t be able to move Pokémon from Home back to Bank. Subscription prices differ depending on whether or not you’re subscribing to the Switch or mobile versions. For the Nintendo Switch and iOS and Android respectively, a month will cost £2.69/£2.99, with 3 months costs £4.49/£4.99 and a year costs £14.39/£15.99.

Aside from being a tool to transfer Pokémon, Home will also allow players to trade with each other, with premium subscribers able to create rooms to trade together. The app also comes with a host of other features, which you can read about over on the official website. As for Pokémon GO support, that will be added in the future, so you might want to hold off until then. Will you be using Pokémon Home? Sound off in the comments.
