Netflix has just released the final trailer for their Shakespearean epic The King, serving performances and visuals that are sure to make some buzz for award season. Timothée Chalamet is certainly the standout in the trailer, radiating Kingly authority in small intimate spaces as well as the grand battle scenes. The Oscar nominee will also be appearing in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women later in the year, so it looks like more possible Oscar nominations are on the way for the young actor.
Robert Pattinson, who plays the Dauphin of France (a fancy way of saying heir to the throne), is also serving looks with his sweeping locks and French accent. It sounds authentic enough, but he utters about two sentences in the trailer, so we will see how his performance holds up in the film. 2019 is proving to be a great year for Pattinson, who has already impressed with offerings like High Life and The Lighthouse, and is looking to be a major contender for acting categories come award season.
Chalamet and Pattinson are joined by a fantastic cast, with the likes of Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn and Lily Rose Depp. The King will be available for streaming on Netflix on November 1st, 2019, so find the biggest TV you can in order to enjoy this epic film to the fullest extent.
