Nintendo have released a new trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which shows Young Link going to war against his opponents. The trailer has unfortunately not been added to YouTube, but you can view it in the embedded tweet below.

It’s worth noting that Young Link is a separate playable character from Toon Link, who will also be playable in Ultimate. Zelda purists will note that instead of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield wielded by his older counterpart, Young Link instead heads into battle equipped with a Kokiri Sword and Wooden Shield, although that doesn’t make him any less of a dangerous opponent. In addition to his primary weapons, he also comes packing with his bow and arrow and his trusty bombs, so players will have a wide variety of methods to defeat their foes.
In-between fights, we can see that Young Link likes to refresh himself by gulping down a bottle of fresh Lon Lon Milk, which is known for restoring health. Navi also appears in the trailer, and I’m sure that more than a few fans are probably hoping that Ultimate finally gives them the chance to give her a good kick to make up for all the times she shouted “Hey, listen” in Ocarina of Time.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will feature every playable character from the previous entries in the series, including Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Samus, Kirby, Fox McCloud, Captain Falcon, and Princess Peach, with confirmed newcomers including Ridley and Princess Daisy. The game will be released on the Switch on December 7, and will sell at least three million copies. Either way, I’m just impressed by the fact that I managed to write an article about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate without mentioning Waluigi. Damn, I just mentioned him. Dammit.
