It seems the wait for the first episode of WWE’s new UK Championship show is almost over! WWE announced this afternoon that this coming Friday (May 19th), they shall stream the entirety of the first taping which took place in Norwich last week.

British fans in particular have been anticipating how the home-grown talent are going to fair under the WWE Network name. I for one am very much looking forward to seeing the likes of Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne and Trent Severn compete on such a huge platform, and how vocal the fans are going to be on a regular basis.

The line-up for this special includes:
– Tyler Bate (c) vs Mark Andrews – United Kingdom Championship Match
– Pete Dunne vs Trent Seven – Number One Contendership match for Takeover: Chicago
– Wolfgang vs Joseph Conners
– Rich Swann & Dan Moloney vs TJP & The Brian Kendrick

Nothing has been confirmed as to how often we are going to be treated to an episode. At first it was considered to be a weekly show, but as far as I’m aware, for now this seems to be a one-off special. Perhaps a pilot for the rest of the series?

What we do know, however, is that Nigel McGuinness is going to be joined by WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross on commentary to call this historic event. This will be JR’s first appearance on the booth since Wrestlemania 33, and is bound to make these newcomers seem like certified WWE superstars!

Catch the first episode of the WWE UK Championship show on the WWE Network from this Friday.
