WWE UK

For just over a year, rumours have spread of WWE hosting their first UK-based pay-per-view for the first time in almost two decades, those rumours have finally been confirmed to be true as WWE announced the date and venue for the hotly-anticipated event.

As confirmed via WWE’s official press release, WWE will be bringing a major event to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Saturday, September 3rd of this year. The name of this show however has yet to be released, but with annual events such as TLC and Elimination Chamber now being hosted internationally, this UK event could give way to a staple of WWE’s programming.

The last UK PPV was held in Newcastle in 2003, the last in the line of Insurexxion events. The main-event saw Triple-H defending the World Heavyweight Championship against longtime friend and rival, Kevin Nash. With headlining acts such as Drew McIntyre staking claim to a huge match with Tyson Fury, and the ever-present draw that is Brock Lesnar, who has yet to return to the UK since his 2012 comeback, there’s a lot that WWE could lean into to make this one of the biggest UK shows to date.
