Oh what could have been.

Following a massively successful night for Women’s wrestling in Saudi Arabia, the original plans for a huge fatal-4-way match for the upcoming two-night WrestleMania have been revealed. WWE were originally hoping to put together the long-awaited Four Horsewomen bout between Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Bayley in Texas this year, before having to change plans due to various factors.

Not only is Bayley still out of the picture with injury, although is soon set to make a return to WWE television perhaps just in time for WrestleMania, but the arrival of Ronda Rousey caused WWE to shift gear. When WWE figured that they could book Rousey for WrestleMania this year, all efforts were made to ensure she was signed and marketed into one of the marquee championship matches, likely the closing match of Night One.

In the meantime, Becky Lynch will be defending her RAW Women’s Title against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks is currently absent from storylines.

This does make for good news for 2022 though, with plans on the table for a big Four Horsewomen main-event, it’s likely this will go down sometime this year, potentially around SummerSlam season.
