WWE have announced via their website that a new title will debut at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, their special that will take place over WrestleMania weekend.
The title in question is to be known as the NXT North American Championship, and will seemingly fill the role of a midcard title for the yellow brand.
This is a huge development that fans have been clamouring for. There are many talents in NXT who we all know will never hold the show’s top belt, but who still deserve something. The inaugural champion will be decided in a six-man ladder match featuring Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, Ricochet, and EC3.
This should make for an interesting rest of 2018 for NXT.
