WWE 2K23 Confirmed For Q1 2023 Release Date

Here we go again.

WWE 2K22
WWE 2K22

WWE 2K22 was a huge hit for 2K this year. Released in early March on all consoles, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, WWE 2K22 rid of any criticisms left over from WWE 2K20, a disastrous title that went down as one of the worst wrestling games ever.

Figures have since revealed that during the first quarter of 2022, which ran from the 30th of March to the 30th of June, WWE 2K22 was named as one of the key games. Alongside NBA 2K22, Grand Theft Auto 5’s remaster and Red Dead Redemption 2, WWE 2K22 has been heralded as being one of the largest contributors to Take Two’s net revenue at an impressive 41% increase.

Wrestling gamers flock to WWE 2K22 not only for its impressive new gameplay engine, but also the improved graphics system. Wrestling games had never felt as fun as they have done recently, not only with WWE 2K22, but with the previous title of WWE 2K Battlegrounds; two successful titles one after the other. So it comes as no surprise that take two have now confirmed that WWE2K23 has now entered official production and will release within the next year.

Take Two also confirmed that now that the game is in development, the current aim is for WWE 2K23 to be on sale by the end of the fiscal calendar, which means that it will be released no later than the 31st of March 2023, around the same time that WWE 2K22 released this year.

Here’s hoping that unlike previous wrestling games, the WWE 2K23 will not be rushed and will release with as much hype and critical fanfare, as WWE 2K22 did. WWE2K22 did not come without its own faults and therefore should hopefully give the producers and the developers enough time to work on these prior to WWE 2K23’s release.

We can expect the WWE 2K23 will continue to bring in the features that have become so popular from WWE games, including a brand new showcase mode and an updated roster.
