Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Lands On Nintendo Switch In June

Wolfenstein The NEw COlossys

Bethesda has announced that last year’s acclaimed Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be arriving on Nintendo Switch on Friday, June 29.

The version of Wolfenstein looks remarkable running on the Switch with little in the way of downgrades visible from its trailer. It’s worth remembering that any footage you see below is probably optimised to show off the best of what’s available. Still, it’s mighty impressive that one of 2017’s best looking games is even landing on the platform to begin with.

Bethesda and id nailed the conversion of DOOM to Switch, though with some obvious concessions. While The New Colossus may not necessarily look as polished or run as smoothly as its console counterparts or even come close to the game’s PC version, there’s something about the idea of killing Nazis on the toilet that is very comforting.

We rated The New Colossus quite highly upon release last year, even if it wasn’t a perfect game. It’s won quite a few awards, Video Game Awards’ ‘Best Action Game of 2017’, so Switch owners are in for some FPS fun.

From our New Colossus review:

“In the tradition of another of my favorite studios, Arkane, Machine Games has crafted a rich, engrossing setting and history to back it up, and gone the extra mile by populating it with a cast of good-to-great characters and told a story that manages to be at once pulpy and entertaining while also being unafraid to tackle very real and grave topics. Then they give you a bunch of cool guns and gadgets and let you blow up everyone’s favorite villains.”
