Whether You Want It Or Not, Jason Goes To Hell Is Getting A Documentary

Dread Central  announced on Monday that horror director Nick Hunt (Wander Tales, Safe Place) is working on a full-length documentary on the making of Adam Marcus’s 1993 film, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. Marcus will be producing.

Will this be a fanboy-type thing where a bunch of talking heads gush over the making of this cheeseball classic (with some of the worst CGI ever)? Probably, but the world isn’t exactly clamoring for an in-depth critical examination of the film. Pretty much only horror fans and people who already like the film are going to be interested in in seeing this anyway.

I know that the ninth installment of the Friday the 13th Franchise gets a lot of flack, and deservedly so, but at least Adam Marcus and his co-writers took a risk and did something completely fucking different with the franchise. Sure, Jason is a worm creature demon thing that can take possession of anyone’s body, and, as such, isn’t in most of the thing, at least not as the hockey-mask wearing sonofabitch that we’re used to. Still, it was fun enough.

I love horror movies and I love documentaries, so this thing had me from the word go.
