AEW’s human highlight reel, Rey Fenix, was unfortunately taken out of action due to a horrific wrist injury on a recent episode of Dynamite. Originally, Fenix was set to return to action in mid-February, although his recovery schedule has since been pushed back ever so slightly, meaning he won’t be seen in action until next month at the earliest. Death Triangle will have to continue their feud with the House of Black with a Lucha Brother down for the foreseeable future.

Fenix sustained his injury during a tag match alongside his brother Penta El Zero Medio, taking on the team of Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. Fenix took a bad spill to the outside, resulting in his injury. Fenix was originally scheduled to wrestle at AAA’s Rey de Reyes show over the weekend, however he was only able to appear in a non-wrestling capacity, introducing a returning Taya Valkyrie alongside his brother.

Pentagon later faced Dralistico in a singles match, where he was assaulted and unmasked after the match had finished, with his brother Fenix restrained at ringside unable to join the fray.

The Death Triangle will be in action this week against Malakai Black and Brody King, but with Fenix still on the shelf until next month, this is likely going to be a tough fight for two thirds of the trio.
