UPDATE: Fortnite has announced that the launch of Season 2 is delayed by eight hours due to some updates taking a while to configure and the devs running into some issues.

Expect Fortnite to be back at after 8PM GMT/9PM CET/3PM EST/12PM PST/4PM CST at the earliest.

ORIGINAL STORY: After a hectic few months, the first season of Fortnite: Chapter 5 is now over with the game officially in downtime and unplayable. You’re probably itching to get back into the action and explore all that Season 2’s Greek theme has to offer, but when exactly should you expect to be able to jump into Season 2 of Chapter 5

The time of Fortnite’s return from downtime is currently unconfirmed. No new season launches have ever been given official times that they will begin, just in case of any issues being found with the build or anything of the sort that causes them to need to be delayed. If you remember the launch of Chapter 2, which seemed like it may never come out, you will probably get why this is the case.

However, most Fortnite seasons launch after 12PM GMT/1PM CET/7AM EST/4AM PST/6AM CST, with downtimes often lasting for upwards of five hours. That’s unlikely to change for the launch of Season 2. You will also need to download a pretty substantial patch (expect 10+ GB per platform), so download the patch when it’s available and simply wait for Epic to let you back in. The sun is starting to come out again. That’s cool.

But if you don’t want to get some fresh air in the meantime, you have a season full of Greek gods, awesome Mythics, and likely more crossovers than you can shake a V-Bucks gift card at to look forward to. We’re expecting Season 2 to be a pretty massive one for Fortnite, as it will run into the summer and the second season of every chapter are typically some of the best content Fortnite has ever put out.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
