Nier Automata is, reportedly, a huge, sprawling game that is going to consume your life. In your quest to unlock every trophy it has to offer, you might forget important stuff like eating, sleeping, and seeing your family. Luckily, if you’re willing to beat the game three times, there is a small shortcut.
According to a Reddit user, once you’ve conquered the RPG for the third time (no easy feat), you will then have the option to buy any missing PS4 trophies to save you doing the rodeo for a fourth time. Don’t worry, no microtransactions are involved – it’s all about the in-game currency.
The screenshot above shows a player buying gameplay related trophies from the special shop. It’s one of the the quirks that makes Nier so hotly anticipated, but not everyone might agree with it. Bear in mind that you have to beat the game three times before you can even look at the shop, so it isn’t as if you’re entering a cheat code to look cooler to your friends.
While this offers a quick route to completion, it definitely doesn’t look like an easy Platinum if you have to beat the game three times and still have trophies left to unlock. I appreciate this as a little oddity of game design, though I wouldn’t really be happy to see it in many other games.
