If dedicated Overwatch players didn’t unearth all of the secrets of the game, I don’t think we would have a lot to talk about. They’ve pulled off another potential scoop by discovering a bunch of voice lines that have never been used in the game before, indicating that another seasonal event may not be far away. Redditor DeadGirlDreaming was the first to notice the voice lines.
They number in their hundreds and look like they were added in during the Uprising patch, hinting at a new mode that follows the same outline as the rest of the game, but has interesting phrases, such as “kill”. To date, Overwatch has all about escorting payloads and capturing points, so it’s unusual to say the least. Perhaps it’s an assassination, similar to Widowmaker’s cinematic?
Pure speculation, of course. Maybe it’s nothing, but those lines are in there for a reason. Whatever their purpose, we’ll probably find out soon enough when Jeff rolls into the forum and lackadaisical announces what’s going down.
