Ubisoft Announces Connect, A Cross-Play & Cross-Progression Service

Pick up where you left off.

Ubisoft have announced that they’re implementing cross-play and cross-progression across their upcoming games with Ubisoft Connect, which launches on October 29th, the same day as Watch Dogs: Legion. Check out the service’s debut trailer at the top of the page.

So What Does Connect Offer?

At launch, the Connect service will replace both the uPlay desktop app and the Ubisoft Club loyalty scheme, essentially bundling both their services into one. It’ll add cross-progression support for games like Hyper Scape, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Riders Republic, Rainbow Six: Siege and more upcoming releases.

Connect will also offer two types of challenges, core and timed, that will allow players to earn rewards across a variety of Ubisoft games. The service will only support core challenges for For Honor, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Hyper Scape, The Division 2 and Steep at launch, with Siege and AC: Odyssey adding them later on, while all the game will support timed challenges except For Honor, which will be added in a future update.

What’s The Catch?

There kind of isn’t one. Challenges aren’t being supported for the majority of Ubisoft’s back catalogue, meaning games like Rayman Legends and so on. However, Ubisoft are unlocking over 1000 prizes across all of their games, meaning you’ll have more content to play with regardless of the Ubisoft game you’re playing.
