Starting a relationship and making friends are crucial components to keeping students happy in Two Point Campus. When students interact with people they like, usually an established relationship, a friendship or something more romantic, they’ll get a bonus to their overall happiness, which in turn improves their academic performance and increase their willingness the hefty tuition fees you’ll undoubtedly set to keep the campus running.
When students move about the territory of the campus and they run into other students, they have a chance to interact and talk, which will help in forming a relationship. However, these casual corridor conversations are the least effective at solidifying a friendship as there’s little incentive for students to stand around and talk in an empty corridor.
The most effective way to help students form friendships is to place interactive items that bring multiple students together in one place, so they can enjoy each other’s company for longer and form a robust connection.
You can check the type and level of relationship the item will help facilitate by either hovering over the desired item in the objects menu or by clicking on the item in question. Friendships will typically start at Best Friends and level up to Giga Chums or better for maximum happiness benefit.
Tracking the friendship level of an item is important as students have to develop their relationships over time, so they can’t become level 4 best buds right away. As such, basic seating, such as benches and tables, are great objects to place where there’s a lot of student traffic so that they can rest and interact with other students.
Interactive items with a relationship level of three or higher are best placed in more specialized areas, such as student lounges or the Student Union room where students go to relax and find entertainment. These objects are things like game tables, arcades, and gym equipment that can help further buff student happiness and solidify friendships.
Now go out there and be a good university president and ensure your students graduate with plenty of connections.
