Square Enix have announced that Triangle Strategy, their recently published RPG strategy title for the Nintendo Switch, has managed to sell over 800,000 units in just two weeks. While it’s not quite the lofty heights of Elden Ring’s 12 million copies in three weeks, it’s still a hugely impressive achievement for a genre that’s a bit more niche.

The news was revealed via the game’s Twitter account, as producer Tomoya Asano announced that the game reached 800K copies worldwide, with 200K of those copies having been sold in Japan alone. You can check out the tweet for yourself below, along with a special illustration from the game’s character designer and artist Naoki Ikushima.

Developed by Artdink, Triangle Strategy is a turn-based tactical RPG in a similar vein to the likes of Fire Emblem that takes place in the fictional continent of Norzelia. You control Serenoa Wolffort, as he works together with his party to navigate their way through an emerging conflict between three different factions.

With a complicated story in play, you’ll be able to make certain decisions that’ll affect the outcome of your game and the fate of the continent as a whole, making Triangle Strategy a deep and engaging game. Here’s hoping it’ll go on to sell more than another 800K copies.
