Total War: Warhammer 3 – How to Earn Infections

Plagues Infection

In Total War: Warhammer 3, the life’s work of the Plague-God, Nurgle, is to concoct some of the best diseases, ailments, and poxes the world has ever seen. But this requires plenty of data, test subjects, and most importantly infections. Here’s how you can help Grandfather Nurgle in their scientific discoveries and earn infections.

To get a supply of test subjects, the followers of Nurgle will need to go out into the world and very gently convince roaming armies with pox-ridden hugs and rusty plague blades to participate in Nurgle’s experiments. After every battle, in the post-battle loot screen players will have the option to incubate any captives they imprisoned during battle, which provides a decent source of new infections.

The next way to get infections is by creating and spreading plagues across the map to settlements and armies. Most disease bases and symptoms give bonus infections to Nurgle’s factions when they successfully spread the disease to a new location. Spreading a plague can occur when an already infected army fights a clean army, or by summoning Nurgle cultist Heroes that can go out into the world and infect target locations with Nurgle’s illnesses.

Nurgle’s faction grows and expands slowly so finding a steady supply of willing subjects may be a bit difficult to come by, especially in the early game, so it may be wise to send raiding armies to loot, sack, or raze settlements in nearby regions. In parallel, Nurgle settlement center buildings also provide a steady supply of infections that can provide a lifeline for a consistent supply of new plagues and poxes.
