TMNT Co-Creator Kevin Eastman Drawing Blood From Kickstarter

Drawing blood

Comic book fans will instantly recognise Kevin Eastman as the co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, one of the most successful franchises of all time. It was also a franchise which was beloved by many, before Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes got their dirty little hands on it.

Eastman is turning to Kickstarter for his latest project, a humorous semi-autobiographical comic called Drawing Blood. The book will tell the story of a comic writer named Shane Bookman and his brother Paul, who both hit it big when he releases a series called Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls. The success is short lived, however, as they soon find themselves penniless after being forced to sell off the rights to the franchise. As if that wasn’t bad enough, they also have to put up with being chased all over town by a bunch of psychotic killers.

Drawing Blood will run for a total of 112 pages, with Eastman co-writing with David Avallone. Ben Bishop and Troy Little will provide the artwork, with some sequences being drawn by Eastman himself. Note that if the campaign hits its stretch goal, they’ll publish an actual Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls comic. You’d better dig deep for this one.
