One of the best games of 2016 is getting its very belated release on Xbox One this month. The “rhythm-violence” game Thumper will arrive on the console on August 18th.

Announced by developer Drool (amazing name for a business), no price has been revealed for Thumper’s Xbox One version, but it will almost certainly retail at indie prices, i.e. less than £/$20.

Interestingly, Drool also mentioned that Thumper was intended to come to Xbox 360:

“Finally! Back in 2009, we started working on Thumper with plans to release on Xbox 360. So we were late by a console generation, what’s the big deal?”

If you’re unfamiliar with Thumper, it’s an unusual rhythm game that pits you as a scarab travelling along a path at high speeds. It’s something of a cult favourite already, so give it a chance if you haven’t already. You can also pick it up on PS4/PSVR and PC, with the former currently being nicely priced during the PlayStation Summer Sale.
