The Persistence

Following its announcement earlier in the year, the previously PS4 exclusive The Persistence now has a set release date for its multi-platform versions: Thursday May 21st, 2020.

Releasing for PC, Xbox One and Switch via digital platforms, The Persistence will also receive a physical release at some point in the summer, though the effects of what’s going on in the world mean that could change.

The Persistence will set you back £24.99/$29.99/€29.99 with 10% pre-order discounts available for its Xbox One and Switch versions.

On top of this, anyone who already owns the PS4 version of the game will be able to update to its non-VR version as well without any extra cost.

Here’s the trailer:

And the synopsis:

“Set in the year 2521, The Persistence charges players with surviving on board a doomed deep space colony starship overrun with horrific and murderous mutants. Play sees them fighting their way through the depths of an ever-changing labyrinth to bring the ship back to Earth, with this new version heightening the tension thanks to enhanced environments and post-processing effects.”

The Persistence was one of our favourite PSVR games when it was first released, so we’re definitely intrigued to see how it fares in the “traditional” sense. It Switch port will also be interesting, especially as it’s not a platform that is exactly renowned for its horror offerings.
