As much as I love the original The Last of Us, there’s one thing about it that I struggle to love: those damn multiplayer trophies that prevent a Platinum trophy without plenty of grind. Luckily, with no difficulty-dependent trophies and no multiplayer to speak of, The Last of Us Part II should be a much easier Platinum for the completionists out there.
There are 26 trophies in total, and it seems like only three of them are directly related to story progress. The rest are collectible and upgrade-based, which means that you may have to play through a second time to collect everything. Considering The Last of Us Part II allows you to make it as easy as you want it to be thanks to its range of difficulty settings, expect it be like Marvel’s Spider-Man in terms of Platinum difficulty and time commitment.

Those hidden trophies are likely storyline related, though you can go into your trophy list on your PlayStation 4 and then uncover them before unlocking them, though beware of spoilers.
As for how long the The Last of Us Part II Platinum takes, reviewers suggest the game take 25 hours to complete at a minimum. Considering that you will have to dive into New Game+ for all unlockables, it’s likely that you’re looking around 40 hours in total for full completion of The Last of Us Part II.
This is roughly the same as the original game, which, while shorter as a single-player experience at roughly 15 hours, has multiplayer trophies and difficulty specific trophies that significantly add to that completion time.
According to critics, The Last of Us Part II is a game worth playing, regardless of if you’re a trophy hunter or not. It’s currently sitting at a 96 on Metacritic, the third highest rated PS4 game of all time. If you take away Grand Theft Auto V, a PS3 re-release, it’s just behind Red Dead Redemption 2 in second place.
The Last of Us Part II releases June 19th exclusively for PlayStation 4.
