The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition: Pre-Order, Where to Buy & More

The Last of Us Part II Remastered W L F Edition
The Last of Us Part II Remastered W L F Edition

While perhaps not the most necessary remaster of all time, The Last of Us Part II coming to PS5 makes a whole lot of sense. It makes business sense for Sony, as it’s one of the easiest wins they’ll get across all of 2024. And it also makes sense for TLOU superfans, who will take any excuse for another descent into enjoyable misery. The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PS5 will also be getting a special physical edition called the W.L.F. Edition, much like how the first game’s remake got a Firefly Edition.

Ahead of its launch super early next year on January 19th, 2024, we’ve boiled down everything you need to know about The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition for PS5, including where you can grab it, what’s inside, and when it will be going live.

What’s in the The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition?

While it’s not exactly a bumper collection of TLOU goodies, there’s a lot of trinkets with The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition that make it more enticing for those who have already played the original game. Here’s what’s inside:

– The Last of Us Part II Remastered PS5 Game
– The Last of Us Part II Remastered Steelbook
– 4x enamel pins
– 47x Society of Champions Trading Cards (8x holo cards)
– Washington Liberation Front patch

Those Society of Champions Trading Cards are actually available in-game as a collectible, so it’s nice to see them made into a real tangible thing for players to collect.

Where to Buy The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition

Similarly to the The Last of Us Part I Firefly Edition, the W.L.F. Edition will be available exclusively from PlayStation Direct in the following markets:

  • Austria
  • Benelux
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

It’s very disappointing that the market is basically just Europe and North America, especially considering the worldwide obsession with the brand. Here’s hoping Sony open it up to more markets soon.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition Pre-Order

Pre-orders for the W.L.F. Edition will go live on December 5th, 2023 at the following times:

  • US West Coast – 7am PST
  • US East Coast – 10am EST
  • UK – 10am GMT
  • Portugal – 10am WET
  • Germany, France, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Austria – 10am CET

The WLF Edition will be available at this link  in the US once we hit its release time. Be sure to set a reminder for yourself, as the Firefly Edition for PS5 got very swiftly scalped by resellers within minutes of pre-orders being available.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition Price

The price for The Last of Us Part II Remastered W.L.F. Edition is £99.99/$99.99, just like how the Firefly Edition also cost £99.99/$99.99. However, the complete package does feel a little bit better value here.

It’s a lot of money, but if you’re a TLOU collector, it’s a better deal better than having to buy the bafflingly expensive resale copies of it for £/£200+ on eBay that will no doubt crop up once it sells out immediately.

About The Last of Us Part II Remastered

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is a remaster of the PS4 classic that includes visual and performance improvements, though none that may be hugely noticeable considering the PS4 game already received a performance bump when played on PS5. Nevertheless, a native 4K output might make it just about the best looking game on the market.

The other main features include a director’s commentary, lost levels with developer commentary, and No Return, a roguelike survival mode that looks like capturing the same kind of fun as Uncharted 4’s Survival mode. There will even be a guitar free play mode for those who can’t get enough of the game’s absolutely wild guitar playing physics.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered will also feature improved loading times, DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers, and more accessibility options.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered launches January 19th, 2024.
