Many eyebrows were raiseed when it was announced that Telltale had be resurrected and were going to start developing games once again, with their first announced project being The Expanse: A Telltale Series, based on the TV show of the same name. Now, we won’t have long to wait to see if this ressurection paid off, as The Expanse: A Telltale Series is coming to PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X & S on July 27th.

Set before the events of the TV series, players will take on the role of Camina Drummer, the commanding officer of a scavenger crew who are on the lookout for treasure at the edges of space. Fans of the show will appreciate that Cara Gee is reprising her role as Camina for the game. Meanwhile, players will have to make tough choices and deal with a host of massive personalities if they want to survive what The Expanse has to offer.

While The Expanse sounds like your regular Telltale game pre-closure, it seems like the revamped version of the studio is doing things differently the second time around. The Expanse features new gameplay elements like mag boots and zero-g thrusters to help immerse players into the life of a space explorer, while the following four episodes of The Expanse will launch every two weeks after July 27th. No more waiting for two months for the next episode, only to have it spoiled on social media by that guy you went to high school with.

Pre-orders for both the standard and deluxe versions of The Expanse: A Telltale Series will go live on June 1st, with players who pre-order on PlayStation or the EGS able to receive 24-hours of early access to the full release. Meanwhile, the deluxe edition is set to receive more DLC content, which will be revealed at a later date.
