The Darkness II Free On Humble Store For A Limited Time

The Darkness

Every so often, the Humble Store likes to give out a free game. Some of them, admittedly, aren’t so hot, but every so often you will come across an underrated gem to add to your Steam library. The Darkness II is one such game, and is free on Humble as of right now.

The sequel to the cult classic became an underground hit of its own, featuring dark tentacles, disembodiment, and more heart-eating than your typical Aztec tribe. It’s a lovely slice of FPS action with more than enough interesting ideas that sadly didn’t resonate with the wider gaming public.

If you’ve never played it, now’s your chance. Just head on over to Humble, take it to checkout, and the game is yours — you’ll be sent a link via email from which you can then add a key to Steam. It’s a tiny download too, coming in at a relatively meager 6GB.

Having just played it, I can vouch for it standing the test of time. It tries a little too hard with its writing, but the overall badassery of cutting up cultists with demonic appendages is hard to deny. You need to at least try it if you haven’t yet. It’s only available for the next day or so, so act fast.

Elsewhere on Humble, the Humble Monthly offerings this month include Mafia 3, Deus Ex, and more. For more info about Humble Monthly, check it out here.
