The Ascent Launches On Xbox, PC & Game Pass This July

Rise up.

The Ascent

Curve Digital and Neon Giant have announced that The Ascent, their upcoming RPG shooter that supports solo and co-op play, will be launching on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S on July 29th, and it’ll be launching day 1 into Xbox Game Pass. Check out the release date announcement trailer at the top of the page.

What Is The Ascent?

The Ascent is a primarily top-down twin shooter/RPG hybrid that sees players explore The Ascent Group arcology, a futuristic metropolis that houses creatures from across the galaxy. Unfortunately, the city shuts down, leaving you and up to three other players left fighting to survive as various hostile elements battle for control of the power vacuum. The game will target 60fps at all times and will support 4K on Xbox Series X.

Who Are Neon Giant?

Neon Giant is a collection of developers who have come together to release The Ascent as their first game together. A 12 person studio, Neon Giant might seem small, but the team is comprised of staff who worked on huge AAA action franchises like Gears of War, Bulletstorm and Wolfenstein, so a shooter like The Ascent is pretty comfortably within their wheelhouse.

Arcade Berg, Creative Director and co-founder of Neon Giant, said in a press release: “We are super excited that people will soon be able to jump into the world of The Ascent. We love making games and we do it because we want people to enjoy the experience and world we have created – so we’ve designed a game that lets all players have fun with the element of gameplay that interests them the most. Whether you’re someone who enjoys exploring every corner, loves exciting combat or gets invested in the story and lore, we’ve tried to put something in The Ascent for everyone.”
