Tekken 8 Launching On PC & Consoles In January 2024

Get Ready For Next Year's Battle.

Tekken 8

Bandai Namco and specifically Katsuhiro Harada have taken to the Gamescom Opening Night Live stage to reveal a release date for the upcoming fighting game Tekken 8. Wisely, they’re sidestepping competing with Street Fighter 6 for fighting game of the year, as Tekken 8 is set to launch on January 26th, 2024. Check out the brand new trailer at the top of the page.

While the trailer was big on gameplay and character reveals, confirming the inclusion of fan favourites like Shaheen, Steve, Kuma, Dragunov, Leo and Yoshimitsu, the trailer also confirmed two modes would be available in game. The first is your standard Story Mode, which will continue from Tekken 7 and see Jin and Kazuya in direct conflict, but the second mode is a lot more intriguing.

Dubbed Arcade Quest, this brand new mode sees players creating their own cutesy avatar and competing in tournaments that have been inspired by the game’s real life arcade and competitive scene. The mode itself feels like a blend between Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub mode, which featured avatars and customisation, and Virtua Fighter 5’s Quest Mode, which focused on the real life VF arcade scene in Japan.

Tekken 8 will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S, with pre-orders set to go live later today.
